Working with the Police

The FLA and its members have a well-established partnership with the police in tackling motor finance crime, fraud and risk. 

ACPO Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (AVCIS)

The FLA sponsors this police unit, which is dedicated to tackling vehicle crime by investigating cases of vehicle finance fraud and prosecuting offenders.

Their wider objective is to remove vehicles as an enabler to more serious crime.

Now in its fifth year, the unit has recovered over 1,000 vehicles worth more than £19 million. The work of the AVCIS Vehicle Fraud Unit is fully supported by the Home Office.   

The FLA’s Fraud Intelligence System

Launched in May 2009, our Fraud Intelligence System is a ground-breaking initiative for motor and asset finance providers. The system is helping lenders to identify financing and application frauds.
