Jo Davis
Partner, Shoosmiths
Jo is a partner and national head of Shoosmiths’ regulatory and asset finance teams based in Northampton, Birmingham and Manchester. She has considerable knowledge in the application of the Consumer Credit Act, and her experience includes the production of documentation, implementing consumer credit procedures, consumer credit, compliance, default protection and litigation. Jo also drafts and advises on documentation and procedures for asset finance contracts for both consumer and business lending.
Jo has recently been working with clients to implement new policies, documentation and procedures under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and 2006. More recently, Jo has been working with numerous clients on implementation of the Consumer Credit Directive.
Roger Dobson
Associate, Shoosmiths
Roger is an associate in Shoosmiths' Lender Services Group, specialising in consumer credit. He has 20 years’ experience advising a wide range of clients on the Consumer Credit Act, and has in-depth knowledge of regulated credit and hire agreements, including store cards, credit cards, personal loans, hire and hire-purchase agreements, and pawnbroking. He also has experience advising the private and public sectors on the Data Protection Act, freedom of information, distance selling, sales promotion schemes, advertising, and on the drafting of consumer-facing terms and conditions.
Natalie Evans
Solicitor, Shoosmiths
Natalie represents lenders in both regulated and unregulated lending, advising clients on the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and 2006 along with distance selling and marketing Regulations, drafting and advising on the compliance of agreements.
Natalie also has experience in defended litigation for example, satisfactory quality title and fraud disputes as well as regulatory disputes.
More recently Natalie has been advising numerous clients on the Consumer Credit Directive.
With experience of both contentious and non-contentious matters, Natalie has assisted with compliance work involving fixed sum loan agreements, hire agreements, hire purchase agreements and finance leases for finance houses. She has also been involved in defended asset and motor finance cases, sale at an undervalue, and has recently provided advice regarding a breach of advertising regulations where trading standards is prosecuting both the directors and the lender.
