Guidance for motor and caravan dealers on the Data Protection Act
(PDF 1.6Mb)

Many of our members receive applications for finance through motor and caravan dealers. It is important for these finance companies to be confident that the dealers who send them credit applications meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA). This guidance note provides an introduction to the DPA.

Combating Fraud Leaflet

Company Identity Theft Prevention
(PDF 64Kb)

Met Police and Companies House working with FLA have launched a business fraud prevention initiative.  UK companies identities have been hijacked by organised criminal networks by making fraudulent entries on their registration at Companies House and then using their credit rating to obtain high value goods and services. The loss to industry through this type of fraud is estimated to be in excess of £50 Million pounds per year.

These leaflets give some guidance to prevent your company being a target.

More advice is available from Met Police Fraud Alert website.

This guidance covers only the latter, grey imports.
