FLA response to equality bill statement on age discrimination
Responding to the Government’s policy statement on ending age discrimination in the provision of financial services as part of the Equality Bill, Fiona Hoyle, Head of Consumer Finance, said,
“It is encouraging that the Government has recognized that age is an important factor in the provision of financial services and making responsible lending decisions. But it is important that the practical application of these proposals does not adversely affect how lenders assess risk.”
