Distance Selling of Consumer Credit

This two-hour session aims to help firms navigate through the complex web of differing rights depending on (a) the type of finance agreement and (b) the amount of credit provided under a credit agreement.

COVID-19 has changed the face of motor finance. Dealers and motor finance providers are now offering more motor finance products online or involving contracting at a distance. There has also been a significant increase in the use of hybrid models (for example, 'click and collect' or models which involve some face to face and some distance selling).

The law on distance selling is complex and can lead to variable consumer rights depending on how finance products are sold at a distance.  This online training course will help delegates to understand:

  • The different types of cancellation and withdrawal and when they apply and when they don't
  • Problem areas for lenders and dealers
  • Practical solutions
