Jo Davis – CEO, Auxillias Limited

Joanne is a Partner and co-founder at Auxillias Limited, a specialist legal and compliance firm established in May 2020 to service the consumer, motor, asset finance and leasing sectors.  Auxillias Limited works in collaboration with FieldFisher LLP, a large European law firm where Jo is a consultant within its  financial services team.   Jo works with a number of well-known retail banks, financial institutions, asset and motor finance providers in the consumer finance, automotive, leasing and fleet markets including credit intermediaries such as finance brokers and dealers.  Jo has over 20 years’ experience specialising in the asset, motor finance, leasing and consumer finance spaces and provides financial services advice (non-contentious and contentious) across a wide range of finance products supporting the retail, motor finance and leasing sectors. 

Jo provides legal counsel and compliance and regulatory advice to her clients and is ranked in Chambers as one of the leading lawyers in the UK in consumer finance.  She was described (2022) as: "A highly regarded technical expert… able to bring a balanced and pragmatic view to any situation," praised for her “tremendous knowledge of our sector” and for being “an extremely engaging and focused presenter."  In addition to her role at Auxillias, Jo sits on the Leasing Foundation and the CCTA board and is a board advisor to two fintechs.  Auxillias also leads the AFC regulatory community. 

Simon Brown – Director – Head of Compliance & Training

Simon has established a significant track record in delivering compliance solutions to consumer finance firms over the last 20 years.  He has extensive experience in working with firms to design, develop and enhance their compliance frameworks.  Simon is an expert in the FCA’s conduct rules for Consumer Credit as well as the methodology of running a successful compliance programme and has direct experience working on authorisations, supervision and thematic reviews as well as developing and maintaining effective relationships with the regulator on behalf of his clients.

His previous roles as head of compliance for Volkswagen Financial Services in the UK, Oakbrook Finance and Loans at Home means he has dealt with applications for full FCA permissions, implementation of the Senior Management and Certification regime, development of compliance monitoring plans, building new compliance teams, and designing and delivering successful regulatory training to both senior management and operational teams.  All this experience and knowledge means he is an expert in helping companies to fulfil compliance requirements, problem solve any issues and deliver training to staff at all levels whilst also maintaining a strong commercial focus.
