Julian Nutley from Tandem Bank joins FLA Board

The Finance & Leasing Association has appointed Julian Nutley, Managing Director of Home Improvement Lending at Tandem Bank, to the FLA Board. Julian has over 35 years of experience in specialist lending. He started his career at First National where he progressed through the organisation, becoming a Director of GE Money in 2006. He was part of the team that founded Shawbrook Bank in 2011, as well as Allium Money in 2018 before its rebrand to Tandem Bank, where he now works as Managing Director of Home Improvement Lending. 

Stephen Haddrill, Director General of the FLA, said: 

“I am so pleased to have Julian join the FLA Board. His expertise and insights on consumer lending will be invaluable, and I look forward to working with him.” 

Julian Nutley, added: 

“I have been a big fan of the FLA for many years. At the start of my career I learnt a lot through the training courses and exams that the FLA provided. I have experienced firsthand the value of a strong active trade body and I’m delighted to be able to work with the excellent FLA team.”

  2. In 2023, members of the Finance & Leasing Association provided £151 billion of new finance to UK businesses, households and the public sector.

Of this total, £63 billion was provided by non-bank lenders. £38 billion was provided in the form of asset finance to businesses - £23 billion of which went to SMEs to fund new equipment, plant and machinery, or purchased software. £113 billion was provided in the form of consumer credit, which includes £52 billion of motor finance.
