A message of condolence

On behalf of all of us at the FLA I should like to express our great sadness at the death of the Queen and offer our condolences to the Royal Family. 

We all share in the love and respect for her that has been shown in so many messages from across the country and the world.  Throughout her reign she stood for and celebrated the best of our country, quietly but firmly reminding us of what we could achieve. 

Whilst I never had the privilege of meeting her, I have worked with many in Government who did. Without exception, irrespective of their politics or ideology, they all spoke so warmly of their meetings, her knowledge, ability to get to the heart of any matter and calm judgement. And today we should spare a moment for considering her legacy, not least that our King inherits and stands on sure ground as our new sovereign. May she rest in peace.
