SMEs need a one-stop-shop for finance

Commenting on the announcement by Business Secretary, Sajid Javid MP, to including an Enterprise Bill in the first Queen’s Speech, Simon Goldie, Head of Asset Finance at the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA), said:

“We welcome the support for enterprise, but would also like to see the Government provide a comprehensive online directory of finance providers to help firms find the funding they need in a one-stop-shop.”

1. In 2014, FLA members provided £100 billion of new finance to UK businesses and households. £26 billion of finance was provided to businesses and the public sector. FLA members financed more than 27% of UK investment in machinery, equipment and purchased software in the UK last year.
